EES Residential Summer School Evaluating
innovative policy instruments: change, complexity and policy learning
(See 3/2004 Newsletter, page 4) , Seville, Spain 25th – 30th September 2005 Themes:
This residential theme arises out of global interest in emergent or
alternative forms of policy implementation. It will draw together
experience and thinking on evaluative practice of policy instruments
that operate in distributed and diffused environments often involving
cultural and non regulatory changes in practices. These instruments
deal in a language of partnership, network and multi-level and
multi-site activity. In this light, information and knowledge produced
from evaluations suggests inventive and challenging methods, ideas and
integrative proceduresthese are the foci of this residential.

and group or learning set applications to maximise exchanges of
experience and the generation of ideas. Faculty: International experts
in evaluation, including some board members. Numbers of participants:
Between 24-30 Target participants: Experienced evaluators, policy
designers, change managers." (posted 25/01/05)
