Work in Progress
Creating and Evolving Participatory
Methodologies A workshop and writeshop at IDS 20-24 June 2005. [invitation
only] "The purpose of this workshop/writeshop has itself evolved. It
began with the idea of providing a space and opportunity for the
writing up of recently innovated participatory methodologies so that
these could be more widely known about and drawn on. It has progressed
to the idea of sharing, analysing, and learning from the ways in which
participatory ways of finding out have been developed, applied and
scaled-up, with critical reflection and drawing practical lessons from
the experience brought by workshop participants. We hope that the
outcomes will be inherently interesting and practically useful. We
think it best not to define in advance what form(s) the outputs of the
workshop/writeshop should take (book, handbook or guide, policy
briefing…), but to wait until we are all together and see
how things evolve". Timetable: By 31 May Complete and share 2-3 page
